How long have you been writing as a team?

B&K we started our first book back in 2019, so almost two years now.

How did you decide to write as a team?

K&B: We were at work and talking about how much we’ve become obsessed with RH and how it would be fun to write together. We tossed around ideas for books and landed on Ray of Hope and just started writing.

What is the best part about writing together?

B: You have someone that you can bounce ideas around with and they will let you know honestly if it’s good or not. Plus we always have fun hanging out so it’s never boring when we’re writing together.

K: Well we’ve been friends for 18 years so we’ve spent a lot of time together. When we write, it’s fun to have our friendship come to life. Kelsey and Brayleigh’s friendship is an exact mirror of ours. Plus, it’s nice to have a reason to ditch our husbands and write.

What is the most challenging part about writing together?

B: We don’t always agree on ideas so coming up with ideas we both agree on can be challenging sometimes, but I think it makes the story even better. Also, it can be hard to get anything done when we are physically together writing sometimes because we joke around too much.

K: When we don’t have the same vision for the book, it’s challenging to come up with something that we both agree on. The best thing is usually what we compromise on is better than our initial ideas in the first place so it works out. Also, when we finish writing, we have meld our voices to sound similar when writing a POV that’s the same.

How do you resolve or overcome conflict / differences of opinion?

K&B We talk it out until we come up with something we can both be happy with.

Tell me about your upcoming book:

K&B: Our upcoming book is the second book in the Cursed Elements Series, Mask of Darkness. It starts with Brayleigh being kidnapped by Kieran and the difficulties she’s having. Between finding out she’s the one to break the curse, having five mates, and being surrounded by Vampires that want to use her to break their side of the curse, she’s stressed.

What inspired you to write this book?

K&B We’ve wanted to write a book for a long time. We were constantly reading new books and finding new authors that were doing amazing indie writing. When we came up with the initial idea for Ray of Hope we both decided to go for it.
