Desperate to learn more about Snow White's seven theives? You are not alone. Enjoy this behind this series of hidden scenes - the origin stories for each of the seven thieves. Before they took in a doomed princess, they were lost souls, looking for connection, hearth and home. One by one, they each found it - unexpected and unconventional though it was. Before the house in the trees, they each forged their own way through betrayal, heartbreak, pain and rage.

Now, as an army they seek to defend, but every great team starts in the shadows. Begin your deeper dive with Belden's story - the story of the leader who started it all...

Studs was born big—and hated for it. His mother died in childbirth, her last breath blown across his broad brow. His father, broken by the loss of his only love turned on the infant.

“Kill it,” he snarled at the midwife, his beloved wife’s mother, still washing her daughter’s blood from her hands. She refused and when the man stepped towards the infant nestled against the still breast of his mother, the crone stepped forward.

“Touch him, and I will bring such darkness upon you, you shall wish you had never known the love of my child.”

Studs was raised by a grandmother who spoke to herbs and stars. She was known far and wide for her powers and her connection with nature, and the spirits. She taught Studs a deep love for the natural world, and he learned kindness before cruelty. Animals became his friends, his close companions and he found ease and balance in the rhythm of the natural world. His father stayed in the shadows, the darkness is his heart only growing.

When the crone died, the farm turned cold - and Studs father turned again to his desire for revenge. Nothing aches so long and hard as a broken heart.

In the spring that Studs tuned ten, mere days after he had dug the grave for his beloved grandmother, his father dragged the mourning boy to market.

“You’re big enough to work until I’ve had enough of you,” the bitter man slapped the tears from Stud’s cheeks. When Studs refused to slaughter a lamb, the belt came first. Then the man drew his sword - at last an excuse to end his suffering.

A soldier with no colors stepped from the crowd. Belden kicked the blade away, buying first the lamb, then the boy from the man with such a cold heart.

Now Studs fights with fists like thunder and a heart made of moss and fire. He shelters the weak, carries the wounded, and still hums the lullabies his grandmother taught him. He is strength without violence. And he is the soul of the forest.
