Ritual and magic are woven deeply into what it means to be human, but older than humanity is passion and love. In this lore drop, step into the forest with Snow and her thieves and celebrate a ritual like no other - one of love, connection and safety in the forbidden woods.

Snow had never seen the forest like this.

The trees glowed with ribbons of firelight, each flame cupped in a carved bowl of stone. Shadows moved between the trunks—wolf, man, something in between. The air tasted of smoke and pine resin, sharp enough to sting her tongue.

Belden was the first to notice her. He always was.

“You came,” he murmured, voice low as embers. Not surprised. Not relieved. Simply certain, as if he had known she would step into the circle long before she had.

The others turned one by one.

Kieon’s smile flickered like candlelight.
Lupin’s eyes gleamed, wild and hungry.
Studs straightened, protective even in stillness.
Olin’s fingers hovered over the strings of his lute, her presence a chord he recognized deep in his core.
Ransford bowed his head, a soldier greeting his queen.
Alcott watched her with silvered eyes, seeing more than the moment.

Snow swallowed. “What is this?”

Belden stepped closer. “The Feast of Hearts.”

She had heard whispers. A ritual older than the Queen’s throne. A night when vows were spoken in breath and touch, not words. A night when the forest listened.

Olin began to play—soft, achingly beautiful notes that curled around her like warm hands. The firelight shifted. The shadows deepened. And the thieves moved.

Not toward her.
Around her.

A circle.
A claiming.
A promise.

Lupin was the first to break from the ring. He approached her slowly, like a wolf stalking prey. His fingers brushed her wrist—barely a touch, but it sent heat spiraling up her arm.

“You smell like frost,” he whispered. “And fear. And something sweeter.”

Before she could answer, Kieon slipped behind her, breath warm against her ear. “Careful, little Snow. He bites.”

“And you don’t?” she murmured.

His laugh was a sin. “Only when invited.”

Belden’s voice cut through the heat. “Enough.”

The others stilled. Even the forest seemed to hold its breath.

Belden stepped into the circle, firelight catching in the glass of his spectacles, hiding his eyes from her, but not his determination. He reached for her hand—slowly, giving her time to pull away. She didn’t.

“This night is not about desire,” he said. “It is about devotion.”

The others bowed their heads.

Belden lifted her hand to his chest, pressing her palm over his heartbeat. “We offer you our strength. Our blades. Our breath. Our lives.”

Snow’s throat tightened. “Why?”

“Because the Queen hunts you,” Ransford said quietly. “And we will not let her take what is ours to protect.”

Olin’s music swelled.
Lupin howled, low and reverent.
Alcott’s eyes glowed like moonlit water.

Belden leaned in, his forehead touching hers.

“Snow,” he whispered, “on this night, you are not alone.”

The fire roared higher, as if the forest itself agreed.

And Snow stepped fully into the circle, into the unexpected love and passion of her new life. Her life in the forest. Her life with her thieves.
